I've got the same 2006 view - these are awesome ideas. My upper bed is sagging like crazy and the headliner is starting to deteriorate. Did you do anything special when improving / replacing the upper bed? It looks new/different.

Great job! I did mine similar to yours except not quite as much work inside as I kept the table and got rid of the couch (as we do a lot of computer work ... & eating). It sure is nice to save a bundle buying a used rig (even with refurbishing costs) vs the what... $120k asking price for them now.... not to mention the taxes and insurance!

Your mods are great. Your paint scheme is also amazing. I wished they had designs like that from the factory. You should definitely do more in depth videos on your mods.

This looks so good. I’m looking at purchasing a 2006 and do many of the same details. If you don’t mind , can you send more pics of b4 and after and what did you use for the flooring? I’m also looking at a slight lift w all terrains. Have you thought about doing that ever?

I had some questions about the end of the video. It's just something I wrote about what the RV meant to our family for the last 16 years, it helped with the decision to renovate, along with the memories, the reliability of the T1n platform as well as how easy it is to work on it made it very clear, this is what it says: FREEDOM … Shepherded us to 49 territories, only Alaska yet to be explored. We cried and lost our breath, gazing the eminent void carved by natures scalpel, commonly referred to as The Grand Canyon. Followed the Colorado river to Lake Mead, waterskied, and kayaked its awe-inspiring canyons. Journeyed the same trail that Lewis and Clark made famous in 1804, discovered along the way tribes residing in magical places like Jackson hole, played tennis in the rain, Michael, and Hunter’s first tennis lessons. In Victor Idaho watched Damien Rice like performer. Drove up the Bitter Root Mountain range to discover the town of Salmon, and the longest river that salmon spawn on, fished that River, didn’t catch anything, really, that didn’t matter. … Freedom introduced us to extraordinary places, grabbing lunch in Vail Colorado at 65°F and just four hours later Moab Utah at 120°F (the look on Katie and Nico as they walked out, never forget, LOL). Awed by places that couldn’t exists, in July, Craters National Park, our overachieving mobile nest climbed so high, snow towering over her, water so blue and pure, could see 30 feet deep, picked up boulders you’d think impossible. Then, there was in the middle of nowhere, for some odd reason this congregation of sand, 1000s of feet high, that just started and ended, 10 miles later, rented a dune buggy, and limped it home. Freedom left St. Anthony dunes crossed the Serengeti and gawked into the eyes of a 2000-pound beast just 2 feet away, mightily prancing down the middle of the road, us gasping from the bay, shielded by our mobile castle. It was only then, gazing into that buffalos’ eyes that we saw an eerie gentleness one wouldn’t think exists. Often, felt so small… Whether it was walking the cypresses that reached the sky and swallowed cars. That only became mammoth because mist rolled over the cliffs from the Pacific, nourishing those sequoias in that land of behemoths. From the Redwood Forest, down the Pacific Highway weaving N. California’s mighty cliffs, overlooking 300-foot verticals and the fury of waves concluding their 3000-mile passage. Camping the Pacific Ocean cliffs, Michael, and Hunter, take the dogs for a walk, Hunter came back a few minutes later but Michael, nowhere to be found. Never so terrified, looking 300 feet down on those jagged rocks, 30 minutes later found Michael, never happier or more relieved. Quadding in Marysville, Utah, Michael fell off a cliff, broke his femur. Really extraordinary reflection. Freedom took us to Bumgardner, Idaho where we learned “that every adversity carries with it the seed of equal or greater benefit”, ran out of daylight, forced to spend a scary night in the forest only to discover it’s magnificence. The next morning, greeted by a glowing fire radiating over the mountain, slowly rising into the dull sky, illuminating the valley and God’s gift (especially cherished) of another day. Just a sampling of the precious jewels to treasure forever. … Freedom’s quests have just begun…

William, yes Thomas Paine 72 inch, I did not have to remove the door or anything plenty of room to get the couch in, very easy!

Amazing! I really like the paint job as well as all your interior work. Is that couch/sofa sleeper a Thomas Paine brand? I've been seriously considering that mod to our '06 View. Did you have to remove the door framework to get it into the unit?

Question about gross weight, yes I took that heavily into consideration the new floor was lighter than the old floor which was linoleum with carpet, the new desk is about the same weight as the old dinette, the new batteries are lighter than the old batteries even including the inverter and charger, when I travel my tanks are typically close to empty so the biggest weight increase is the solar panels which is about 100 lb and a full diesel tank which when full is about 160 I am considering switching to flexible panels, removing my dish satellite and adding 300W And I am also thinking about adding another leaf spring do you have any experience with that?

Did you take into account gross vehicle weight rating with the new desk sofa bed extra fuel and water tank? It might need more beefy leaf springs,they might snap with the extra weight.

Wow! Perfect! Have you considered a 4 camera security system, that is wifi-enabled, so you can see all around the outside of your rig, similar to what Teslas have?
